Sirius Controls is hiring a Financial Accountant.

This role is designed for a sharp, motivated accountant who wants to build strong fundamentals and grow into increased responsibility over time.

You will be based on-site in Edmonton and embedded in the day-to-day flow of the business. This role combines core accounting responsibilities with meaningful exposure to inventory and manufacturing accounting, cross-border transactions, ERP implementation, and hands-on accounts payable and payment processing.

This role is intentionally hands-on and operational, providing a solid foundation for growth into more senior accounting and finance responsibilities over time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Accounting & Close

- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records
- Support month-end and year-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
- Assist with financial reporting schedules and audit support

Inventory & Manufacturing Accounting

- Support inventory accounting, including receipts, adjustments, cycle counts, WIP, and cost of goods sold




- Work closely with operations and supply chain to understand inventory flows and production processes
- Assist with inventory reconciliations and analysis of variances and shrinkage
- Help strengthen inventory controls and documentation

Accounts Payable & Payments

- Review, code, and process AP invoices accurately and on time
- Support payment processing (EFT, ACH, wire, cheque) in accordance with approval matrices and internal controls
- Assist with vendor statement reviews, discrepancy resolution, and payment inquiries
- Contribute to improving AP workflows, controls, and documentation

Cross-Border & Systems Exposure

- Assist with accounting for cross-border transactions between Canadian and U.S. entities, including intercompany activity and foreign currency considerations
- Participate in ERP and systems implementation initiatives, including process mapping, testing, and data validation
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls, and process consistency

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong grasp of accounting fundamentals and attention to detail
- Willingness to handle hands-on work, including invoice processing and inventory support
- Curious, growth-oriented mindset with a desire to understand the business end-to-end
- High integrity, humility, and accountability

Pay: $90,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
