Finishing Carpenter

Job Summary

At Lane One Homes Ltd. We create innovation for the next generation of housing. We factory-produce our steel frames and provide on-site installation. We handle everything from the delivery of the unit to the final finishing touches. We are currently seeking a skilled Finishing Carpenter to join our team.

The Role

As a Finishing Carpenter, you are responsible for installing moulding, doors, trim, and cabinets. Working primarily in our factory environment—with occasional in office installation work—you will ensure the final touches are properly installed and meet quality standards. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday.

Duties

- Installation of flooring systems, interior doors (including specialized pocket doors), baseboards, trim, and crown moulding.
- Assemble and install flat-box kitchen cabinets, and mount all final finishing hardware, including door handles, hinges, and locks.
- Measure, cut, and shape materials to fit the building’s interior, ensuring proper alignment and installation.
- Taking measurements and estimating materials needed.
- Use of power and hand tools to cut and install materials.
- Collaborate with other trades such as electricians, plumbers, and roofers to coordinate production schedules and assist other trades when necessary
- ·Inspect and identify damaged material and repair or replace as necessary.
- Pick up materials from supplies as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensure proper storage of materials and tools and disposal of waste.
- Perform other duties as required

Qualifications & Requirements





- Minimum 2 years of finishing carpentry experience
- Demonstrated hands-on experience installing kitchen cabinets is required.
- Experience in completing cabinet installation independently from layout through final adjustment and finishing.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans
- Willingness to drive vehicles such as F550's and tow trailers as needed
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (50lbs)
- Knowledge of completing hazard assessments, inspections or the use of SiteDocs
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work tasks
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well in teams as well as independently

Certifications/Licenses

- Valid driver's license (required)
- Red Seal Certification (asset)

Experience

- Finishing carpentry: 2 years (Required)

Salary:

- $32.00-$36.00 per hour based on experience

Supplementary Pay:

- Overtime pay

Working Conditions:

- Working primarily indoors and occasionally outdoors in all weather conditions.

Work Location:

- In-Person (Port Kells)
- Must be willing to travel to on-site locations occasionally.

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
