Full-Time Pediatric Night Nurse – RN/RPN - CCPN $25,000 Employer

Are you an RN or RPN looking for a nursing role where you can slow down, focus on one patient at a time, and truly make a difference?
At-Home Hospice is looking for a dependable and compassionate Full-Time Pediatric Night Nurse to join our community nursing team.
For more than 20 years, At-Home Hospice has provided specialized nursing care to children and families throughout the Ottawa area. Our nurses provide one-on-one care in the comfort of the child's home, allowing them to build meaningful relationships with their patients and families while practicing nursing in a more personal environment.
This is a Full-Time overnight position providing one-on-one nursing care to pediatric clients in their homes.
Typical shifts are
10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
Full-time nurses must be available for a regular overnight schedule, including weekends and statutory holidays on a rotational basis.
Depending on the needs of the individual child, nursing responsibilities may include:
- Providing one-on-one pediatric nursing care in the home
- Ongoing assessment and overnight clinical monitoring
- Medication administration
- Enteral/G-tube feeds
- Seizure monitoring and management
- Tracheostomy care and suctioning
- Respiratory monitoring and support
- Following individualized care plans and physician orders
- Completing accurate nursing documentation
- Identifying and responding appropriately to changes in condition
- Communicating with families, the clinical team and other members of the child's healthcare team
- Providing protected, compassionate and family-centered care
We are looking for nurses who are reliable, confident, compassionate and comfortable working independently in a home-care environment.
Applicants must have
- Current registration as an RN or RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current CPR certification
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check
- Strong assessment, communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently
- Reliable transportation to client homes
- Availability to consistently work overnight shifts
Pediatric experience is strongly preferred. Experience with medically complex children, tracheostomies, enteral feeds, seizure management or respiratory care is considered a strong asset.
Client-specific training and orientation will be provided.
