School : Saint Sava Serbian Orthodox Elementary School (Opening Fall 2025) Position : Full-Time Primary School Teacher (Grades K-6) About Us: Saint Sava Serbian Orthodox Elementary School is set to make history as the first Serbian Orthodox elementary school in Canada, opening its doors in Fall 2025. As a registered not-for-profit organization, we are dedicated to enriching the academic and spiritual lives of our students, valuing both educational excellence and a deep sense of cultural identity. Our mission is to provide an environment that integrates rigorous academics with Eastern Orthodox Christian values.

Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Full-Time Primary School Teacher for Grades K-6 who is keen to develop engaging lessons and experiential learning opportunities. This is an exciting chance to be part of a groundbreaking institution that will serve the Serbian community in the GTA and beyond. Our ideal candidate will inspired by the world around them, with a deep commitment to both education and the Orthodox Christian faith.

Be prepared to significantly enhance the curriculum and aim to be 1.5 - 2 years ahead from the standard, in academic subject areas. Implement a broad range of teaching strategies and evaluation methods to develop and gain a complete picture of the child's knowledge and understanding. Plan and participate in frequent out-of-classroom/field trip experiences designed to inspire and challenge them to achieve their full potential.





Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment with small class sizes (no more than 15 students per teacher).

Integrate Orthodox

Christian values and traditions into daily lessons and school activities. Foster a love of learning and encourage the academic and spiritual growth of each student. Collaborate with fellow educators, parents, and community members to promote a positive and effective educational experience.

Certification as a Teacher (OCT) in Ontario, or teaching experience in Canada or Serbia. We also welcome teachers who are trained in IB, Montessori, or other experiential learning methods/philosophies. Fluency in Serbian is highly desirable but not required.

Experience working with young children and contributing to their educational development. Excellent leadership and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a school community. Be a pioneer in the first Serbian Orthodox Elementary School in Canada.
