Empower Indigenous children with the Vancouver Aboriginal Child & Family Services Society as a Life Long Connections Coordinator. Lead cultural and community engagement efforts for children in care. This full time position focuses on child safety, promoting solid connections to home communities and cultural heritage. The successful candidate will utilize their communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills while working alongside social workers, Nations, and extended families.
Your role will include planning reunifications and cultural connections, with a comprehensive understanding of Indigenous welfare practices and legislation. Key Responsibilities:
Engage in restorative child safety practices
Build trust with Indigenous communities and families
Facilitate cultural ceremonies and connections
Oversee the program’s band list for children in care
Collaborate with social workers and community agencies Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work or related field
Minimum one year of relevant work experience
Knowledge of First Nations cultural protocols
Ability to participate in Indigenous ceremonies
