Force Tubular Solutions a leading oilfield asset and tubular management and services company to the upstream oil and gas industry. Its core business revolves around drill pipe, drill tools, sucker rods, casing and production tubing, coating services, and tubular products for production and completion. Force’s services include in-plant and mobile inspection, repair, machining, and manufacturing.

Reporting to the Field Supervisor, the Hardbanding Operator is responsible for the application of specific hard-facing material which is adhered to the joint surface. This position requires an individual who is detail oriented and mechanically inclined and able to work in all types of conditions. In addition, this position requires interprovincial travel with a mobile unit.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Manually handles tubular product, (i.e. rolling, pivoting).
- Coordinates and performs harbanding service activities as per job order received to meet customer requirements.
- Generates inspection summary reports and work orders using inspection program software.
- Heats product using tiger torches prior to the application of hardfacing material.
- Operates hardbanding equipment.
- Grinds, hardbands and gauges according to API, manufacturer or customer specifications.
- Maintains regular housekeeping and machine maintenance according to manufacturers specifications.
- Completes and maintains field work orders.
- Assists labourers with preparation of the tubular product.
- Cross-trains for other positions, to assist operations when needed.
- Adheres to customers procedures when working on 3rd party sites.
- Complies with Force Inspection’s Health & Safety program and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- High school diploma.
- Strong Hand / Eye coordination.
- Minimum valid Class 5 Alberta Driver Licenses (Non GDL)
- Experience driving with trailer (an asset).
- Basic Math and writing skills
- H2S ticket, First Aid Training and WHIMS 2015




- Physically fit / able to handling weight up to 50 lbs.
- Standard Alberta Hardfacing Certificates (Hilong, Postle, Arnco)
- Strong verbal and written English skills.
- Knowledge on Hydraulic system (an asset)
- Knowledge on Welding process (an asset)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and multiple stakeholders.
- Superior detail orientation; values accuracy and has high standards around quality of work.
- Process thinker, with high degree of initiative and ability to work independently.
- Positive approach, with willingness to do what is needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting in a timely and effective fashion.

- Must be able to distinguish colors.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
- May require work in hazardous environments requiring protective equipment.
- May be exposed to dust and high noise levels.
- Manual dexterity required to use measuring instruments & tools.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.
