HEABC leads and supports the strategic planning related to human resources and labour relations on behalf of British Columbia’s publicly funded health employers. HEABC is responsible for negotiating provincial agreements for 138,000 unionized health care employees including nurses, physician residents, ambulance paramedics, health science professionals, and more.

Education Services is a centralized service that supports HEABC’s education and learning needs. Working in collaboration with subject matter experts, Education Services develops and delivers impactful, responsive, and strategically aligned education programs grounded in cultural safety, inclusivity, and accessibility, for both internal HEABC staff and HEABC members and partners. The successful candidate may be permitted to work in a hybrid model (combination of in-office and flexible work location) and will live within commuting distance of our Vancouver office.

Reporting to the Director, Education and Administrative Services,



the Education Coordinator supports the Education Lead with all aspects of planning, design and development, implementation and delivery, and evaluation of education programs and services. embed and uphold Indigenous rights and Indigenous-specific anti-racism in HEABC’s education offerings and workplace. Under the direction of the Education Lead, design and develop various forms of educational content, including but not limited to eLearning modules, webinars, workshops, articles and documents, online educational resources and toolkits. Plan, schedule, and coordinate all educational events and offerings, both in person and virtual, and manage Education Services’ department inbox and intake/approval process.

Present and facilitate education sessions, workshops and webinars, or other educational events, both in person and virtual, as directed by the Education Lead. Evaluate education program effectiveness by measuring the outcomes, determining whether the objectives have been achieved, and assessing whether learning has occurred that results in the demonstration of best practices. Maintain accurate records of education programs and their outcomes; assist the Education Lead with the preparation of detailed reports for senior leadership on how education programs are achieving their objectives.





Provide leadership and guidance to others using effective education techniques for adult learners in the workplace; support the Education Lead with the development of training materials for internal and external parties and related administrative processes and procedures. identify opportunities for new products related to improving education goals and objectives and utilization of educational resources. University degree related to adult education or a related field, plus a minimum of five (5) year’s recent, related experience in teaching and coordinating adult education, and or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Experience working with adult learning theories, frameworks, and principles. Advanced technical proficiency with MS Teams and Zoom and other presentation platforms; advanced skillset using eLearning software (e.g., Articulate360), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and other relevant technology, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, video recording and editing software, and relevant database programs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work with subject matter experts to gather input and feedback to support the development of relevant training and education materials.
