Become the key driver of safety at ʔakisq̓nuk First Nation as the Health & Safety Coordinator. This onsite role emphasizes program development and workplace culture enhancement. As a vital part of the organization, you will report to the Director of People & Workplace Culture.

The OHS Coordinator is responsible for implementing occupational health and safety programs that comply with legislation. Your focus will be on risk management, maintaining training records, and enhancing safety culture for all employees and community members. Key Responsibilities:

- Develop OHS programs suited to AFN operations
- Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation
- Lead first aid incidents and emergency preparedness
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits
- Manage training and safety communication initiatives

Requirements:

- Post-secondary education in health and safety or related fields
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in OHS
- Familiarity with Workers Compensation Act
- Proven skills in safety training and incident handling
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups
