The Opportunity: Heavy Duty Mechanic

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Heavy Duty Mechanic is a key member of the maintenance team. The maintenance team is responsible for ensuring that the mobile fleet is maintained, providing consistent uptime and safe operation. You will have an interactive role with the Plant Manager, Superintendents, Supervisors and operators.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain the mobile fleet to maximize equipment uptime and availability
- Develop and follow preventative maintenance equipment service schedules
- Identify and leverage opportunities to reduce fleet operating costs.
- Ensure all equipment and maintenance reports and parts request documentation is current
- Work closely with OEM representatives when needed, for assistance in repairs and diagnostics.
- Communicate with operators to assist in identifying equipment deficiencies and requested repairs
- Follow established safe work procedures

Required Skills, Knowledge and Required Competencies:

- Trade certification




- Minimum of 5 years of trade experience in a fast paced industrial setting
- Experience in maintaining / repairing wheel loaders, forklifts, skid steers and tracked equipment
- Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Well-developed trade skills and ability to work independently if required
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Possess the ability to communicate using verbal and written communication skills
