About the Role

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources & Payroll Coordinator is responsible for supporting the HR department functions, and the ongoing administration and maintenance of Canada Royal Milk’s payroll, benefits, and human resources information systems.

Commitment to customer service excellence is required to join the Human Resources and Administration team. The Coordinator interacts frequently with all CRM employees, responding to questions in a timely manner, and providing resources as required.

The role requires advanced computing skills, high level of confidentiality and strong attention to detail.

Job Requirements

· Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or a related field.

· Demonstrated work knowledge of multiple human resource areas preferred with a minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative role and 3 years of experience working in a client-focused position.

· Work in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA, regulations, internal programs, policies and procedures.

1. Complete company payroll per payroll schedules: produce payroll report for verification and accuracy before submitting
2. Enroll new and existing employees into payroll and HRIS systems; maintain accurate and current data
3.



Accurately implements salary increases and bonuses in accordance with company policies
4. Consults with department managers and supervisors on all payroll related issues, questions, and reports
5. Stay current on changes to legislation related to payroll, benefits, and privacy
6. Responds to government agencies inquiries relating to employees
7. Ensure timely remittances for WSIB and other premiums
8. Maintains confidentiality of all employee records and employee information
9. Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health advantages and RRSPs
10. Coordinate regular advantages orientations for staff
11. Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction
12. Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies
13. Stay current with plan details as well as new services
14. Maintain comprehensive employee records, including, but not limited to attendance, leave, overtime, shift premiums, vacation entitlement, benefit entitlements, professional development, training records, performance, and awards
15. Generates accurate reports for Finance, Human Resources, department heads and third-party vendors
16. Create, update, maintain and where applicable distribute internal reporting of vacation accruals, headcount, contract extensions, turnover, performance management, attendance, overtime and hours work, metrics etc.
17. Maintain and update company organizational charts, phone directory and other requested reports as needed
18. Maintains internal communication systems and channels with current information and notices
19. Communicates changes and updates to employee programs, company policies and human resources notifications in a timely manner
20. Provides administrative support to the Health & Safety Officer and assists the Safety Officer to develop and implement safety programs
21. Handles special projects and other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities · Advanced computing skills, including excel functions

· Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality based on the requirement to access, review, maintain and distribute sensitive communication, materials, and records

· Knowledge of employment, payroll, and privacy legislation

· Knowledge of human resources information systems (HRIS) or experience working with databases

· Maintain a high level of accuracy and detail orientation

· Ability to show versatility and resourcefulness when problem solving

· Ability to organize priorities based on deadlines and importance of tasks

· Strong interpersonal skills: ability to effectively communicate information with all team members and management

Working Conditions The standard office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Most of the work occurs during regular weekday office hours. However, as an international company with frequent interaction with head office, hours of work involved may vary to accommodate differences in time zones. Flexible hours are required and may include evening and week-end hours.

This job operates in office and food manufacturing setting. Travel may be required, both within Canada and internationally.

Pay: $51,000.00-$58,000.00 per year
