We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Supervisor to support our growing operations in the construction and building materials industry. This role will be responsible for managing day-to-day HR functions, supporting recruitment, and ensuring smooth communication between management and local teams.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, people-oriented, and familiar with the Canadian construction or engineering business setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations
- Support hiring efforts for sales, operations, and technical roles
- Act as a bridge between management and employees, ensuring clear communication
- Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with Ontario labor regulations
- Handle employee inquiries, conflict resolution, and performance tracking
- Coordinate training and team development initiatives
- Support payroll coordination and benefits administration
Qualifications
- 3+ years of HR experience in Canada (experience in construction, engineering, or related industries preferred)
- Strong understanding of Ontario employment standards
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and multicultural environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience working with local contractors, builders, or engineering teams
- Familiarity with Canadian workplace culture and communication style
- Strong ability to build relationships with local clients and partners
- Multilingual ability is an asset
