Host/Hostess ResponsibilitiesPrimary clerical and receptionist duties.Assist with the development and coordination of activities and lead activities that meet the needs of the retirement community residents.Serve meals, set tables, and maintain cleanliness of the dining room.Provide resident interactions in a professional manner with a focus on customer service.Assist with completion of resident profiles when a new resident moves into the home.Assist in development and implementation of activities that meet the six dimensions of wellness (Social, physical, intellectual, emotional, vocational, spiritual needs of all residents).Assist with the development, preparation, and delivery of communication tools (newsletters, posters, notices, calendars, etc.) to provide residents,



seniors outside the community and volunteers with information regarding current and future activities and special events.Respond to resident or family member concerns and ensure appropriate action is taken within decision‑making authority and/or bring to the attention of the Programs Manager in a timely and effective manner.Create a safe, pleasant, creative, and non‑threatening engaging environment.Greet residents and other patrons, present menu options, answer questions regarding options, and take orders.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (preferred); Minimum Grade 10 is required.Formal training or equivalent on‑the‑job experience (preferred).Fluent in English both orally and in writing.Ability to follow direction and willingness to learn.Capable of routine work with minimal supervision.Solid leadership ability and willingness to work collaboratively with others.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills interacting with residents, families, volunteers, and staff.Salary$17.82 – $18.85 per hour, salary determined based on qualifications and experience.#J-18808-Ljbffr
