Become a part of BCIT's School of Construction and the Environment as a full-time Ironworker Faculty. Develop future tradespeople through instruction and hands-on training in various ironworking techniques. BCIT is seeking a temporary, full time Faculty member to teach in the Ironworker program. Ideal candidates will engage in classroom instruction, conduct hands-on shop and lab supervision, and evaluate student performance through structured curriculum.
Your role will involve collaboration with faculty and administrative responsibilities for a well-rounded educational approach. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver classroom instruction and prepare lessons
- Supervise shop and lab activities for students
- Evaluate student learning and provide feedback
- Manage web and app-based curriculum operations
- Collaborate with department on curriculum development
Requirements:
- BC Certificate of Qualification in Ironworking
- Minimum of five years’ experience as a qualified Ironworker
- Experience with structural and reinforcing steel preferred
- Knowledge of welding and mass timber installation
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
