The Role The Field Technician plays a critical hands-on role in delivering technical support and installation services directly at client sites. This position involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing system setups, maintaining integrated security systems, and responding to both scheduled and unscheduled service calls. A strong technical aptitude, excellent customer service, and the ability to manage tasks independently are essential.

Schedule This is a full-time permanent position with 8-hour shifts from Monday – Friday for a total of 40 hrs weekly.
What we Offer
Competitive Salary:
- $47,500.00-$57,500.00 per year. Salary commensurate with experience.

What You'll Do:
On-Site Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Conduct on-site service calls for diagnostics, repairs, and installations of hardware, software, and integrated systems.
- Perform workstation refreshes, reimaging, and network patching as part of project work.
- Troubleshoot and repair computer systems, printers, and other devices by removing and replacing faulty components.
- Examine system environments and document issues thoroughly.
On-Site Printer Support
- Maintain a clean and organized work setting.
- Use repair manuals effectively when servicing printers.
- Identify and use appropriate resources to support repairs, including documenting repair procedures
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures in printer systems.
Security Systems & Specialized Equipment
- Participate in the setup and maintenance of integrated security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
- Apply knowledge of A+ certified hardware and software troubleshooting in field settings.
- Utilize understanding of security systems to assist in configuration and maintenance (training provided if needed).
Client Communication & Service Management
- Initiate and schedule service appointments with clients.
- Clearly explain technical issues, repair procedures, timelines, and associated costs to clients.
- Maintain professional communication throughout the troubleshooting and service process.
- Respond to both scheduled and unscheduled client service calls in a timely manner.
Task Prioritization & Team Collaboration
- Triage and prioritize support calls based on urgency and SLA (Service Level Agreements).
- Provide assistance to teammates with complex or time-sensitive service calls.
- Work independently in the field while staying connected to the larger technical team for support and updates.
What You Bring:
- Technical education, relevant field experience, and a strong willingness to learn.
- Comptia A+ Certification in hardware and software support required.
- Experience with printers, CCTV, access control, and alarms is an asset.
- BC Security License is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload effectively.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability for complex technical issues.
- Team player with the ability to work independently in the field.
- Proficient verbal and written communication in English.
- Must possess a valid BC driver’s license.
