Venor is proud to partner with our client, Atlantic Canada Aerospace and Defence Association (ACADA), in the recruitment of an Event Manager. ACADA is a collaborative, SME-focused association representing the interests of the aerospace, defence, and security sector across the region. With more than 250 member companies and organizations, ACADA works closely with industry, and provincial and federal government partners, to drive strategic industry development and promote the Atlantic Canada brand locally, nationally, and internationally. Reporting to the Director of Communications & Engagement, the Event Manager will own the full lifecycle of ACADA's events portfolio - from flagship conferences and awards dinners to provincial engagements and industry briefings - while also building and stewarding the sponsorship relationships that support the Association's programming. This is a hands-on role suited to someone that is comfortable setting event strategy in a planning meeting to directing on-site logistics in the room. You'll manage 4 to 6 large-scale events annually ranging from intimate sessions of 50 attendees to conferences of up to 1,000+ attendance at industry events across the region on an ongoing basis. You will work directly with vendors, venues, and contractors and you also bring that experience to the role. You’ll have an appetite for event technology and a proactive, solutions-first mindset. This is a permanent, full-time, remote position based anywhere in Atlantic Canada.

What you'll be doing:

- Own ACADA's events portfolio end-to-end, planning and executing 4-6 large-scale annual events including multi-day conferences, awards dinners, and single-day seminars.
- You'll create and execute them all from concept through post-event evaluation.
- You will coordinate ACADA's participation at up to two dozen industry events, briefings, and networking functions monthly across the Atlantic region.
- Build and manage sponsorship packages and relationships,

ensuring all sponsor obligations and deliverables are fulfilled accurately and on time.
- Develop communications plans for events, including invitations, promotional campaigns, and related materials that keep members, sponsors, and stakeholders engaged.
- Manage full event logistics from venue selection and contracts, vendor coordination, registration, speaker/exhibitor management, and on-site operations.
- Support ACADA's participation in trade shows and conferences, including booth design and construction, registration, and brand obligations.
- Develop event timelines and run-of-show documents, directing contractors and vendors to ensure seamless execution.
- Manage event budgets in close collaboration with ACADA's operations team, and provide post-event reporting on attendance, engagement, and impact.
- Collaborate closely with ACADA's Member Relations Manager, CEO, and operations team to align events and sponsorship with broader organizational goals.

What you'll bring:

- Proven experience owning an event portfolio end-to-end, including large-scale events of up to 1,000 attendees.
- A self-starter mindset – being comfortable working independently and bringing forward recommendations and next steps rather than waiting for direction.
- Experience in an agency, corporate, or association events environment (association experience is an asset, not a requirement).
- Awareness of government protocol and hierarchy, and experience engaging with VIPs (e.g., premiers' or ministers' offices, senior military), is considered an asset.
- A strong appetite for technology,

including event registration and email marketing platforms; experience with AI tools is preferred.
- The polish and flexibility to represent the Association professionally, even on short notice or under changing circumstances.
- Willingness to travel across Atlantic Canada to support programming, member engagement, and events.
- Robust project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple events and deadlines concurrently while staying calm under pressure.
- The ideal candidate is a hands-on events professional who is as energized by strategic planning as by running the room on event day.
- We're looking for someone who brings initiative, composure under pressure, and genuine enthusiasm for building ACADA's presence across the region.

What they offer:

- ACADA offers a collaborative, remote-first environment and the opportunity to shape the future of events and sponsorship for the region's aerospace, defence, and security sector, with direct mentorship and coaching from leadership.
- Competitive salary 3 weeks' paid vacation, including a mandatory paid week during the Christmas closure
- Employer-matched RRSP contribution (up to 3%)
- Monthly cell phone allowance
- Comprehensive health & dental plan
- Versatile, fully work from home arrangement
- Direct mentorship and coaching from ACADA leadership
- We embrace a culture of belonging in the workplace. No matter who you are, where you're from, how you think, what you believe in, or who you love, we welcome your application. We all come from different backgrounds and different walks of life, bringing in unique perspectives and experiences. We encourage applications from 2SLGBTQ+, Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC), women, newcomers to Canada, and people with disabilities. If you require any accommodation in the application and interview process, please let us know (including different materials or otherwise).
- Salary Range: $80,000-$95,000
