direction of the Supervisor of Mechanical and Controls Systems, the HVAC Technician is responsible for

the maintenance, repair, installation, and operation of commercial HVAC systems including mechanical

and electro-mechanical equipment in accordance with board policies and procedures, relevant

regulations, codes and best practices in a safe and effective manner. If you have a positive attitude, are

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Secondary School Graduation Diploma.

Valid G1 Gas License, preference given to multi-license

Minimum 5 years and 5000 hours of previous related and/or on the job experience

Strong customer service and effective interpersonal skills

Proven ability to work both independently and co-operatively as a member of an

interdepartmental team

Proven time management, scheduling, job planning and organizational skills

313A or313D Refrigeration/Air Conditioning License is an Asset

Ability to prepare documentation for standard maintenance practices

Ability to share knowledge with colleagues for awareness building and knowledge cross- pollination

Ability to troubleshoot equipment and processes for failure finding and restoring services

Advises the Facilities Services management team of opportunities for continuous improvement





Must be comfortable using technology; the position is required to use technology including the Board’s Work Management System (eBASE) with mobile technology

Working at Heights/Elevated Platform certification, including the ability to set up and use personnel life equipment

Standard First Aid Certification, CPR Certification

Valid Ontario Drivers License, Class G with a clean abstract.
