Become part of the mission at the Ontario Jewish Archives as a full time archivist, starting July 2025. Engage with diverse archival tasks encompassing collection management, outreach, and reference services. In this permanent position, you will oversee collection management, digitization, and reference services as part of a vibrant community archives.
Your background in archival work will support the preservation of Ontario's Jewish heritage and enable meaningful connections with researchers and the public. The role specifically requires excellent communication, technical proficiency, and a passion for community engagement. Key Responsibilities:
Meet with record donors and manage acquisitions
Process and describe records following archival standards
Digitize media and manage collections in digital formats
Provide reference services per privacy policies
Assist with outreach, programming, social media, and tours Requirements:
Master of Information focusing on Archives Management
Minimum 1-year archival experience, including internships
Robust understanding of archival principles
Comfortable with mixed media collections
Fluency in English, knowledge of additional languages an asset Bring your archival expertise and community dedication to help preserve and share the rich Jewish history of Ontario.
