Our Edmonton office is recruiting a Junior AutoCAD Technician to join our team of dedicated professionals and administrative staff on a full time, permanent basis (40 hours per week).
Qualifications:The successful candidate should have the following:
- Post-secondary education in drafting, engineering, geomatics or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience using AutoCAD in consulting, engineering, environmental, surveying, or related industry. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and the ability to produce accurate technical drawings, figures,
maps and related project deliverables using survey and project data.
- Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
- Familiarity with drafting standards and technical drawing practices.
- Experience with Civil 3D, Surfer, ArcGIS, GIS mapping, and/or Geodetic drafting is considered an asset.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and eager to learn and develop technical skills in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Responsibilities Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare, revise, and organize technical drawings, survey plans, field sketches, figures, maps, and photographs for environmental, engineering, and industrial projects under the guidance of senior staff.
- Incorporate graphics and data from other software platforms into project drawings and deliverables.
- Provide drafting support to engineering and environmental project teams and assist in identifying and resolving drafting-related issues.
- Apply company drafting standards and templates to maintain consistency and quality across project deliverables.
- Utilize survey data, AutoCAD, Surfer and/or GIS and related software to support project execution.
- Collaborate with team members and provide support on a variety of projects and deadlines.
- Communicate any project or drawing-related concerns to project managers or senior team members in a timely manner.
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
- Organize and maintain project drawing files and associated drafting information.
- Maintain knowledge of current AutoCAD and related software updates, features, and industry drafting standards.
- Other duties as required.
