About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Lab Technician to join our cultivation team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in plant science, horticulture, biotechnology, or laboratory work to develop hands-on experience in a professional cannabis tissue culture environment.

The successful candidate will support the day-to-day operations of our tissue culture laboratory, helping produce healthy, uniform, high-quality cannabis plants through controlled tissue culture techniques. The ideal candidate is organized, highly attentive to detail, comfortable working in a clean laboratory environment, and eager to learn and follow established procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform routine cannabis tissue culture activities including culture initiation and maintenance, mircopropagation, subculturing and rooting, under established SOPs.
- Prepare and maintain sterile work areas and laboratory equipment.
- Assist with media preparation, dispensing, labeling, and sterilization.
- Perform aseptic transfers and subculturing of plant material.
- Monitor cultures for contamination, growth, and overall plant health.
- Maintain accurate records of cultures, batches, transfers, and laboratory activities.
- Identify and appropriately report contamination or abnormalities.
- Assist with plant acclimatization and transition from in-vitro culture to greenhouse conditions
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain laboratory workspaces, equipment, and supplies.
- Follow all laboratory SOPs, sanitation procedures, safety requirements, and applicable cannabis regulations.
- Maintain organized inventory of media, supplies, and laboratory materials.
- Support the Cultivation Team with other propagation and laboratory tasks as required.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and quality-focused work environment.

Qualifications & Skills

- Post-secondary education in horticulture, plant science, biology, biotechnology, agriculture,



or a related field is an asset.
- Previous laboratory, tissue culture, plant propagation, or horticultural experience is required
- Strong interest in plant propagation and cannabis cultivation.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks consistently.
- Ability to follow detailed SOPs and maintain accurate records for full traceability
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable working with microscopes, laboratory equipment, and sterile techniques.
- Ability to recognize contamination, abnormalities, and changes in plant material.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a controlled laboratory environment for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and continuously improve technical skills.

Compensation

- Pay: $20-$24/hour, based on experience

Physical & Work Requirements

- Ability to stand and work at a laboratory workstation for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive fine-motor tasks requiring precision and concentration.
- Ability to lift and move laboratory supplies and materials as required.
- Consistent adherence to laboratory hygiene, PPE, and sanitation requirements.
