The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated, safety-focused Junior Safety Coordinator to join our Calgary team. With 2–4 years of occupational health and safety experience, you'll work closely with our Safety Manager and operations team to support our safety program, maintain Alberta OHS compliance, and help drive our COR program — combining office-based administration with regular field work such as site visits, inspections, hazard assessments, and investigations.

We're looking for someone hands-on and approachable, comfortable getting out into the field and confident speaking with drivers, supervisors, and operations personnel at every level. Transportation industry experience is a strong asset, and this is a great opportunity to build your safety career across OHS compliance, COR, inspections, and investigations.

What You'll Do

- Assist with the day-to-day administration of the company’s Health & Safety program.
- Conduct workplace and vehicle/site safety inspections.
- Assist with formal and field-level hazard assessments.
- Participate in incident, near-miss, and property-damage investigations.
- Assist with corrective action tracking and follow-up.
- Support the company’s COR program, including documentation, inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of safe work procedures and policies.
- Maintain safety records, training documentation, inspection reports, and other safety-related records.
- Assist with employee safety orientations and training.
- Participate in toolbox meetings and safety meetings.
- Work with supervisors and employees to identify hazards and implement appropriate controls.
- Conduct regular field visits to company operations and worksites.




- Assist with ensuring compliance with Alberta OHS legislation and applicable transportation safety requirements.
- Strong computer skills required.
- Other safety-related duties as required.

What You Bring

- 2–4 years of occupational health and safety experience.
- Transportation, trucking, logistics, or related industry experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience with workplace inspections, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and safety documentation.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable communicating with employees, supervisors, and management at all levels.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Experience with Samsara or an equivalent fleet management and safety monitoring system.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Class 1 or Class 3 driver's licence is considered an asset.
- Ability and willingness to travel to company worksites as required.

Work Environment

- Monday to Friday.
- Primarily office-based.
- Regular field/site work.
- Occasional travel to company locations and worksites.




- Interaction with drivers, supervisors, management, and operations personnel.

Compensation

Salary Range: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
