Legal Aid Alberta is seeking to fill a full-time Administrative Support (Temporary 18 Month) position in our Edmonton office. This position will appeal to an individual that likes to take initiative, is client focused, and is exceptionally strong in delivering high-quality results.

As a publicly funded, non-profit organization, Legal Aid Alberta provides affordable legal services in family law, domestic violence, child welfare, immigration, and youth and adult criminal defense. We are Alberta-wide, with 300 staff and 1,200 private practice lawyers helping people overcome their legal challenges in more than 75 communities across the province.

Reporting to the Manager, Certificate, Tariff & Administrative Support, the Administrative Support is responsible for various administrative and clerical duties in support of Legal Aid Alberta Client Contact Centre Services.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Implements and utilizes established procedures in accordance with Legal Aid Alberta Rules and Policies
- Entering and deposit of payments which includes payments by credit card, cheque, or money order
- Completes financial deposit reconciliation
- Creating or updating Client Records, as required
- Sort and distributes incoming electronic and hard copy correspondence, including mail distribution for the Contact Centre
- Scans, uploads, and tasks client documents within CRM
- Completes data entry
- Order endorsements and transcripts, if required
- Order and distributes office supplies, if required
- Completes other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Certificate or diploma in Administration is preferred
- 1-2 years in administrative experience is required
Knowledge and Skills:
- Cash handling, banking, and/or accounts receivable experience is an asset
- Office management systems and procedures
- Working knowledge of office equipment
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Robust organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
