We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aerospace Stress Analysis Engineer (10+ years) to lead structural analysis activities for aircraft primary and secondary structures.
The role involves classical hand calculations, finite element modeling (FEM), and certification support to ensure the structural integrity and airworthiness of aerospace components and assemblies.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in metallic and composite structural analysis, with strong familiarity in FEA tools, certification standards, and design collaboration across multiple domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and perform structural analysis and stress assessments of aircraft components (primary, secondary, and system structures).
- Develop and validate finite element models (FEM) for static, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis.
- Perform classical hand calculations to cross-verify FEA results and support design trade studies.
- Evaluate structural loads, margins of safety, and allowable limits for critical components.
- Collaborate with design, materials, and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and structural compliance.
- Conduct analysis for metallic and composite structures, including joints, fittings, panels, and assemblies.
- Prepare stress reports, certification documentation, and substantiation dossiers as per OEM/authority standards.
- Support design modifications, repair development, and weight optimization efforts.
- Participate in design and peer reviews (PDR, CDR) and provide analytical input for decision-making.
- Lead and mentor junior stress engineers and review deliverables to maintain high analytical quality.
Technical Expertise Required
- Robust understanding of structural mechanics and aerospace stress analysis principles.
- Expertise in FEA tools such as NASTRAN, PATRAN, HyperMesh, FEMAP, or ANSYS.
- Hands-on experience in hand calculations, fatigue, damage tolerance, and durability analysis.
- Knowledge of composite analysis methodologies (Classical Laminate Theory, ply-level modeling).
- Familiarity with aircraft loads, environmental conditions, and design allowables (MMPDS/CMH-17).
- Understanding of airworthiness regulations (CS/FAR 23/25, MIL-STD, DOA) and certification documentation.
- Experience in stress substantiation for aircraft structures (fuselage, wing, empennage, nacelle, or interiors).
- Proficiency in report generation, margin of safety tables, and technical reviews.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $61,004.59-$122,368.90 per year
