Position Summary

Precision Garage Door Service Of Edmonton is currently looking for a Lead Commercial Overhead Door Technician. The position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of overhead door service and installation projects.

The Lead Commercial Overhead Door Technician ensures that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the company’s quality standards. This role requires strong communication, leadership, planning, and coordination skills to effectively manage customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Requirements

- Minimum 3 Years experience servicing/installing commercial or industrial overhead doors
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail and time management.
- Solid communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Sound financial acumen and understanding of margin management.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract.

- IDEA Certification
- CDI Certification
- Experience with Electrical
- Experience with Welding
- Experience working on Docks
- Experience hauling trailers

Key Responsibilities

Working Conditions

- Based primarily out of our Edmonton office, with regular visits to customers and job sites.
- Standard workweek Monday–Friday, with rotating on call schedule for occasional after hours work to meet deadlines or site schedules or assisting technicians.
- Combination of office and field work, with frequent communication with customers, vendors, and installation teams.




- Must adhere to all company and site-specific safety procedures.

Team Management

- Train and mentor staff, including technicians and office personnel
- Support staff and installers with clear instructions, drawings, and site details
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement improvement plans
- Ensure compliance with HR policies and labor laws

Operations & Customer Service

- Maintain high service quality and customer satisfaction
- Oversee scheduling, dispatching, and job completion efficiency
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and franchise standards
- Prepared and delivered professional cost estimates to residential and commercial clients, factoring in labor, materials, timelines,



and scope of work.
- Coordinate procurement of doors, operators, hardware, and access control systems
- Address issues promptly and diplomatically to maintain trust, satisfaction, and repeat business.
- Provide proactive communication throughout the project lifecycle, including schedule updates, scope adjustments, and completion confirmations.

Leadership & Strategy

- Oversee daily operations and ensure company goals are met
- Foster a positive work culture and team development
- Manage technicians and staff by establishing clear expectations and keeping them accountable to those expectations

Financial, Reporting & Compliance

- Provide regular reports to management on business performance
- Track costs and change orders, ensuring all additional work is documented, approved, and billed appropriately. Monitor project profitability and identify cost variances or risks early.
- Update CRM and project tracking systems to ensure current and accurate records.
- Support accurate project invoicing and follow up on outstanding receivables where required.
- Ensure adherence to franchise policies, industry regulations, and safety standards
- Implement and maintain company policies and procedures

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week

Experience:
- Servicing & Installing Commercial Overhead Doors: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:
- Class 5 Licence with Clean Drivers Abstract (required)
