Job Summary The Licensed Practical/Registered Practical Nurse is responsible for providing direct skilled client care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Responsibilities include following the plan of care, providing treatments, and working collaboratively with the members of the team to help meet positive client care outcomes.
Responsibilities - Provides direct patient care - Provides accurate, detailed, and timely documentation - Conducts ongoing assessments - Prepares, administers and appropriately documents actions taken specific to medications - Performs all skills, treatments, and procedures competently in accordance with the provincial scope of practice - Follows principles of infection control and Universal Precautions Qualifications - Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
- Recent clinical nursing experience in long-term care, acute care, home care, or community settings is an asset - Strong clinical skills - Negative TB test or chest x-ray - Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision - Excellent customer service skills
