Teacher – Long Term Occasional (LTO)

Learning Assistance Classroom (LAC) – Primary

Effective September 2, 2026 and not to extend beyond June 30, 2027

Mandatory Requirements

- Basic qualifications to teach in the Primary Division
- Special Education Part I

Preferred Requirements

- Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the listed divisions.
- Repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies.
- Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in special education, including the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP's)
- Knowledge and experience of the Identification, Placement and Review process (IPRC's)
- Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom as well as additional G-Suite digital tools and EDSBY, to facilitate instruction and effective communication with parents.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills and the ability to work in a team setting.
- Understanding of the Ontario Catholic Curriculum and repertoire of current instructional and assessment strategies for both Literacy and Numeracy




- Knowledge and experience in supporting comprehensive (structured) literacy and the use of student data to drive instruction and individualized educational programming.
- Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies and facilitate differentiated instruction.
- Commitment to being an active participant in the school's professional learning team to promote student achievement.
- Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties.
- Knowledge of, and familiarity with, the school environment would be an asset.
