Marketing Manager
Full Time - Permanent
Location: North of Toronto -Bradford ON, On-site
Hours: Normal office hours based on a 40-hour work week, excluding lunch (1 hour lunch or ½ lunch( , with some flexibility in start and finish times
Salary: up to $100,000
Bonus: Year-end bonus eligibility after one year; amount depends on individual and company performance

Canadian sales and distribution company owned by a large European family-owned comfort-footwear company. The business supports consumer brands through independent Canadian retailers and e-commerce storefronts.

Summary of Role: The Marketing Manager leads the Canadian marketing team and manages marketing across B2C and B2B, including e-commerce, paid media, email, social, retailer programs, product branding, and the relationship with an international head office. This is a hands-on leadership role managing a team of three Marketing Specialists (B2C, Design, and B2B). The successful candidate must be organized, data- and technology-driven, able to lead with a team philosophy, and able to understand the product and what appeals to the end consumer.
E-commerce is very important and is the fastest-growing area, while wholesale remains the biggest driver of the business. The role currently supports two Shopify storefronts, with the possibility of growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the marketing team. Manage the day-to-day work of the B2C, Design, and B2B Marketing Specialists; set priorities, develop strengths, and keep the team focused on high-impact work.
- Manage B2C and B2B marketing,
including seasonal programs, product branding, e-commerce, retail and wholesale marketing priorities.
- Direct paid media and the agency relationship. Manage budgets, briefs, and channel mix across Meta, Google, and programmatic; evaluate reporting and make data-based budget decisions.
- Guide e-commerce marketing across the Shopify storefronts, including merchandising and promotion priorities and the customer on-site experience.
- Interpret campaign and store performance using GA4, platform reporting, dashboards, and internal reporting; communicate results clearly to management and head office.
- Direct email, lifecycle, and organic social marketing, including the Klaviyo email and SMS program.
- Coordinate with international head office on campaigns, content, assets, and reporting.
- Coordinate retailer programs, trade shows, catalogues, point-of-purchase materials, outlet-store marketing, and other B2B marketing activities.
- Manage marketing vendors and tools and work with technical partners to support the marketing platform environment.
- Use data, digital marketing, technology, creativity, and AI tools to improve marketing execution and team effectiveness.
- Lead through organization and coordination while maintaining a hands-on approach to marketing execution.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive marketing experience with hands-on ownership of multi-channel consumer campaigns.
- Direct experience leading a small team and developing team members.
- Strong multi-channel digital marketing experience across paid media, e-commerce, email/CRM, and social.
- Paid-media judgment and the ability to brief and challenge an agency and support budget decisions with data.
- E-commerce experience and comfort working across the marketing technology platform stack; Shopify experience is a solid asset.
- Strong organization, coordination, project management, and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of data, digital marketing, technology, and AI tools used in day-to-day marketing work.
- Experience in fashion, wearable consumer products, or another consumer-product environment is very important. Footwear experience is not required; fashion or European-based consumer-product experience is helpful.
- Ability to understand consumer demographics, product positioning, and what drives end-consumer appeal.
- Experience working with a European or international head office is an asset.
- Comfortable working in a small-company environment where the role includes both strategy and hands-on execution.
- French is an asset but is not required.
Technology and Marketing Platforms: Standard platforms currently used include:
Shopify Admin, Google Ads, Google Merchant Center, Meta Business Suite, Klaviyo, Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio, Google Business Profile, Google Workspace, Swat.io, Microsoft 365, Asana, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
The marketing environment also includes company-specific Shopify applications and internal tools, transactional email, returns, AI, digital signage, traffic reporting, B2B ordering, business intelligence, and technical infrastructure. Company-specific systems can be learned on the job.
