The Advisor is a specialist within the construction or related industry and brings a strong understanding of client businesses and their evolving needs. The Advisor is continuing to build deep expertise in the insurance and/or surety sector while demonstrating consultative capabilities and strategic selling skills, with a focus on generating new relationships, retaining existing clients, and expanding current accounts. The Advisor is responsible for the overall client experience and holds primary accountability for client and insurer relationships.

The focus of the role is on achieving results aligned with the broader organizational strategy and long-term business objectives. Success in this role requires initiative, a strong competitive drive, and the ability to remain focused on outcomes in a dynamic and evolving client environment. RESPONSIBILITIES
Own and drive new business development, including prospecting, networking, and identifying growth opportunities and be accountable for the growth, retention, and profitability of a personal book of business
Build, manage, and maintain a sustainable and active prospect pipeline
Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the lead advisor and primary point of contact
Deliver a high standard of client service,



ensuring long-term relationships are established and maintained
Responsible for the management of client insurance programs, including periodic coverage reviews, identification of gaps or deficiencies, and delivery of appropriate recommendations
Identify and assess emerging trends within client industries and the insurance marketplace, using insights to support client strategy and growth
Work collaboratively with internal service team members to ensure a consistent and exceptional client experience
Attend construction/related specialty and insurance industry functions and develop strong market relationships to leverage best terms and a win-win outcome for all parties
Obtain and maintain technical coverage expertise that ensures alignment between the client’s risk transfer needs are appropriately covered by the insurance program.
Provide contract analysis and attend meetings with various stakeholders to advocate for the best interest of clients
Advocate on large or complex claim situations and engage with legal, adjusting or claim experts to bring optimized results for our clients
Engage internal and external Risk Control and Loss Prevention specialists to quantify the client’s risk profile and offer recommendations for improvement
Employ analytics such as CatNet and cyber modelling to quantify loss exposures and provide insight for the client on their total cost of risk
Accountable for achieving individual revenue targets through new business generation and expansion of existing accounts, aligned with the organization’s strategic growth objectives




Contribute to the overall growth of the organization by aligning individual performance with company goals and strategic priorities
Collect and communicate appropriate data to ensure client management systems are accurate and updated in real time including sales pipeline and customer information

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Achievement of individual new business and revenue targets
Growth and retention of assigned book of business
Cross selling to other lines of business to scale our business
Collaboration across Navacord to leverage specialized resources such as captives, underwriting facilities, panels or programs
Outwardly sharing own best practices and knowledge across Navacord to elevate our brand in the marketplace
Maintenance of an active and sustainable sales pipeline tracked our CRM system
Delivery of a high standard of client service and relationship management
Deep understanding of client’s financial and business operations
Strategic approach to risk management and gap analysis to win and retain clients
Technical coverage expertise in chosen specialty
Solid financial acumen and ability to effectively interface with C-Suite and/or boards

WHAT YOU BRING
5+ years of commercial insurance experience, ideally within a brokerage and with a robust focus on business development
Active Level 2 General Insurance Licence
Strong knowledge of commercial insurance programs, coverage strategy, risk transfer, and market placement
Experience working with clients in Construction, Commercial Marine, Renewable Energy, Professional Services, or another specialty segment
Demonstrated ability to develop current business, build a strong prospect pipeline, and grow and retain client relationships
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to advise business owners and senior executives
A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with strong problem-solving skills, resilience, and a drive to win new opportunities
