Provide vital mental health support as a Mental Health Consultant with the Government of Nunavut. This full time, permanent role involves working with individuals and families to enhance well-being and promote mental health. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate mental health care for clients.
The role requires five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience in mental health or social work. You'll conduct comprehensive mental exams, suicide risk assessments, and advocate for the dignity of clients. Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and plan mental health care for clients
- Conduct mental exams and risk assessments
- Implement crisis response strategies effectively
- Maintain accurate client records confidentially
- Advocate for the dignity and self-respect of clients
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in social work or mental health
- Five years’ experience in counselling and therapy
- Fluency in Inuktut, English, or French preferred
- Knowledge of Inuit culture and communities
- Satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
