Ketek Group Inc From its 10 locations in Western and Northern Canada, Ketek is able to provide services and rental equipment to clients throughout the region’s oil and gas, mining, construction, and municipal sectors.

POSITION BACKGROUND:

The Millwright Apprentice is employed within Ketek to service our pumping equipment. The Millwright will carefully take apart, categorize, store or move old equipment, analyze plans for new equipment, map out space, and assemble new equipment.

CORE DUTIES:

Shop Operations

- Inspect, service, maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, dismantle and replace unit assemblies or parts, and make repairs to all Ketek pumping equipment
- Communicate with shop supervision on methods, procedures and hazards
- Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances
- Regularly use knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, low voltage direct current, electronics and pneumatic principles, properties of various materials, and operating and application principles of equipment




- Install, align, take apart and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation by using hand and power tools and welding equipment
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery

Other Duties
- Operate hand tools and equipment
- Perform routine housekeeping duties in the shop
- Represent Ketek in a light that is commensurate with the values of Management and the Corporate Vision and Mission Statements
- Observe all safety procedures and use proper Personal Protective Equipment
- Be considerate of the needs of our community and the environment
- Perform other related duties as required
