Municipal Worker – Parks and Recreation Term Position

Up to two (2) month term with possibility of extension

Reporting to the Parks and Recreation Foreman, and working within a team workplace, this full-time term position (40 hours per week) is responsible for duties related to the Community Services Department including:

- Arena facility operation, maintenance, and custodial duties
- Park and greenspace maintenance
- Public relations
- Equipment operation, such as ice resurfacing equipment, grass cutting equipment, tractors, etc.
- General municipal department support
- Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will demonstrate most of the following skills/abilities:
- Experience in the operation of a wide variety of equipment & vehicles.
- Demonstrated people skills
- Basic mechanical skills




- Experience or aptitude for turf management, or horticulture
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Physical fitness, ability to lift 50lbs, extended periods of walking/standing

Other requirements:
- Acceptable RCMP Security Clearance Check
- Must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Provide a current Driver’s Abstract as a condition of employment
- This position requires availability for regular shift work including evenings and weekends.
