Nature of Work
Dawson College’s Centre for Training & Development is seeking instructors to teach new non-credit courses in cybersecurity. Courses are offered to small groups of adult learners, typically averaging 10-12 participants. Instructors are provided with a course outline identifying the topics and learning objectives to be covered and are expected to develop their own teaching materials, activities, and approach based on this framework.
These are non-credit professional development courses and do not involve formal grading.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and practical cybersecurity training to small groups of adult learners;
- Prepare course materials and learning activities based on the course outline provided;
- Explain technical cybersecurity concepts in a clear and accessible manner;
- Create an interactive and supportive learning environment;
- Collaborate with Continuing Education staff as needed regarding course delivery and participant needs.
Qualifications
- Education, skilled certification, or professional experience in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or a related field;
- Demonstrated professional knowledge and experience in cybersecurity;
- Teaching, training, facilitation, or instructional experience, preferably with adult learners;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English;
- Ability to translate technical concepts into practical, accessible learning;
- Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, collaborative approach;
- Experience developing training or instructional materials is an asset.
