The Director, Business Development is a seasoned sales professional responsible for sourcing new client opportunities across Meira's three audiences: private equity and family office, municipal government, and enterprise. This role requires a deep understanding of how businesses run, how ERP and technologies support effective business, and the decision making process to source and close new opportunities. The Director, Business Development will be based in Toronto, growing Meira's presence across North America. This role will source and close well-qualified opportunities.
You will act as the first point of contact between Meira and prospective clients, working collaboratively with the President and the delivery team to turn early conversations into well-qualified opportunities. Your ability to blend genuine curiosity about a client's business with disciplined qualification will be critical in building the client base. The role reports to the President and is full‑time, permanent.

Responsibilities Prospecting and Lead Generation Building and working an ideal client profile pipeline across private equity and family office, municipal government, and enterprise
Getting out to the Toronto and Ontario events, associations, and roundtables where our buyers are
Cultivating the VAR and referral partner network that produces warm introductions
Keeping the HubSpot pipeline clean, with accurate stages, close dates, and next steps
Discovery and Qualification Running first meetings that surface the client's real problem, timing, budget, and decision path
Qualifying honestly against Meira's ideal client profile, and passing on the work that does not fit
Bringing the President into the deal at the right moment, with the context needed to close
Positioning and Storytelling Representing Meira's methodology, vendor‑agnostic stance, and end‑to‑end delivery model accurately
Anchoring conversations in the outcomes Meira has produced for clients
Adapting the story to the audience without changing what Meira delivers
Referral Network and Partner Development Nurturing the network of VARs, private equity operating partners, municipal advisors, and adjacent consultants who send Meira business
Representing Meira at the industry associations our buyers belong to
Feeding what you hear in the market back to the team, on positioning, pricing, and what competitors are doing
Pipeline and Reporting Managing HubSpot with the discipline that accurate forecasting requires
Reporting weekly on activity, pipeline movement, and forecast
Tracking win, loss, and no‑decision reasons, and sharing what the pattern is telling us
Other Researching recent practices, concepts, and technologies, bringing them forward to the team, and applying the ideas that bring value to our clients
Duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time by Meira management.
Compensation This is a salaried position with a range of $100,000-$120,000, plus uncapped commission based on invoiced GP.
Requirements Meira team members have wide and varied backgrounds, ranging from education to medical, and from mining to construction. For this role we are looking for someone who has sold ERP or technology consulting before, and who has spent enough time around operations to talk shop with the people who run them.
5+ years in business development or sales within technology consulting or ERP‑adjacent professional services
Direct sales experience at an ERP VAR (SAP Business One, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Sage Intacct, Acumatica, or Tier 1 ERP). Experience across two VARs an asset
Direct operational experience, or a track record of selling into operations: manufacturing, distribution, project‑based services, portfolio operations, or shared services
Comfort talking with COOs, VPs of Operations, and CFOs about how their business actually runs
A documented history of winning net‑new logos rather than growing existing accounts
Based in Toronto or the surrounding GTA
Able to travel occasionally to Vancouver HQ and to client sites across North America
Experience selling to CFOs, COOs, operating partners, or municipal executives
An understanding of private equity portfolio dynamics, municipal procurement, or both
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Native level English a requirement
Discipline around pipeline and forecasting
Genuine agreement with our vendor‑agnostic stance. We do not resell software
Prior consulting delivery experience an asset
An existing referral network across private equity operating partners, family office CFOs, or municipal executives in Ontario an asset
Master of Business Administration an asset
