About the Role

Collective Waste Solutions is looking for an experienced and motivated Operations Supervisor to join our team in Edmonton. Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Operations Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable day-to-day operation of multiple routes.

This position is responsible for coordinating people, equipment, and work schedules, ensuring operational and safety standards are consistently met, and providing hands-on leadership and coaching to our field teams.

The successful candidate will be a solid communicator and organized leader who can balance operational priorities, customer expectations, employee development, and safety requirements in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

Operational Execution

- Coordinate daily assignments, routes, equipment, and resources to ensure efficient and profitable operations.
- Ensure Field Operators understand their daily work plans, client requirements, and site-specific policies.
- Monitor daily operations and conduct field spot checks to ensure work plans and service expectations are being met.
- Ensure pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, tools, and equipment are completed as required.
- Review and ensure operational paperwork, documentation, and reporting are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Maintain high standards of service and work quality to consistently meet or exceed client expectations.
- Ensure equipment and personnel are utilized effectively to optimize labour, routing, and operational efficiency.
- Step into an Operator role when required while maintaining all required qualifications and following established procedures.
- Keep senior leadership informed of operational activities, resource requirements, challenges, and client satisfaction.

Safety & Compliance

- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture with the goal of achieving zero incidents, lost-time injuries, and property damage.




- Conduct daily safety meetings to ensure employees are fit for duty and understand the hazards and risks associated with their assigned work.
- Ensure employees maintain all required safety certifications, training, and tickets.
- Ensure company safety programs, procedures, Occupational Health requirements, and client-specific protocols are consistently followed.
- Ensure incidents are reported promptly and accurately in accordance with company and client requirements.
- Lead by example by consistently demonstrating safe work practices.

Leadership & Employee Development

- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to field employees.
- Ensure employees have the training, tools, and resources required to perform their roles safely and effectively.
- Support employees in developing their skills and competence across a variety of fleet equipment and job responsibilities.
- Reinforce positive behaviours, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
- Promote and model the company's core purpose, values, initiatives, and programs.
- Help create an environment where employees feel supported, engaged, and motivated to succeed.

What You Bring Education & Certifications

- GED or equivalent preferred.
- Valid safety certifications and training required for the position and applicable worksites.
- Valid driving certifications and qualifications as required by company and client requirements.

Experience & Technical Skills

- Previous experience in operations, field services, transportation, environmental services, or a related industry is an asset.




- Experience leading, coaching, or supervising employees in a field-based environment is preferred.
- Comfortable using computers and various software systems, including mapping, GPS, and fleet management technology such as Fleet Complete.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, routes, employees, and operational requirements.

Pay: $80,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
