Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time IV Nurse to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide specialized intravenous therapy and patient care in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care environments. Your expertise will ensure safe and effective administration of medications and fluids, while delivering exceptional patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

- Administer intravenous medications, fluids, and therapies accurately following established protocols and medical orders
- Monitor patient responses to IV treatments, adjusting care plans as needed to ensure safety and comfort
- Maintain detailed documentation of all procedures, medication administration, and patient observations using electronic health records systems such as Epic or Cerner
- Assess patients’ vascular access sites for signs of infection, infiltration or complications, ensuring proper site care and maintenance
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Educate patients and their families on IV therapy procedures, potential side effects, and post-treatment care instructions




- Ensure compliance with infection control standards, medical terminology accuracy, and medication safety protocols

Qualifications

- Valid nursing license with current registration in the state of practice
- Proven experience as an IV nurse or in a similar nursing role within hospitals, nursing homes, or home care settings
- Strong knowledge of acute care practices, dementia care, hospice care, pain management, and senior or assisted living environments
- Experience working with pediatric patients and children’s medical needs preferred
- Proficiency in phlebotomy, medication administration, laboratory procedures, and medical terminology
- Familiarity with electronic health records systems such as Epic or Cerner is highly desirable
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including seniors and hospice patients
