The Chalmers Foundation seeks an experienced Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications, to lead our marketing and communications function.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this senior functional leadership role is responsible for how the Foundation communicates with donors, healthcare partners, the community, and other stakeholders.
We are looking for someone who can think beyond projects, campaigns, and deliverables.
The successful candidate will understand audiences, identify what makes content relevant and compelling, use data to improve performance, and determine how marketing and communications can strengthen philanthropy, reputation, donor engagement, and community awareness.
The Senior Manager will lead the Foundation's marketing and communications strategy, including brand, content, digital and social media, media relations, marketing analytics, and campaign communications. The role will also lead our Marketing Coordinator and oversee our relationship with an established external creative agency.
This position requires someone who can set direction and ensure strong execution. You should be equally comfortable discussing strategy with the CEO, collaborating with Foundation teams, advising philanthropy colleagues, presenting recommendations, engaging with donors and community partners, reviewing content performance, and providing clear direction to creative partners.
We operate in a collaborative environment where priorities can shift as fundraising opportunities, community needs, and organizational requirements change. Sound judgment, adaptability, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work constructively with different perspectives are therefore essential.
What you will lead
You will have responsibility for:
Integrated marketing and communications strategy
Content and audience strategy
Digital and social media
Brand management and reputation
Marketing analytics and performance
Communications supporting philanthropy, donor stewardship and Foundation programs
Media and stakeholder communications
Marketing planning and budget
Leadership and development of the Marketing Coordinator
External creative agency and vendor relationships
What we are looking for
The successful candidate will ideally bring seven or more years of progressively responsible marketing and communications experience, including demonstrated responsibility for strategy and results.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate that they have:
Developed marketing or communications strategy rather than simply implemented projects
Identified and understood different audiences and what matters to them
Used content, digital channels and social media to build awareness and engagement
Used performance data and audience insights to improve marketing decisions
Led or developed employees
Presented recommendations clearly and persuasively
Influenced colleagues and worked constructively through different perspectives
Managed external creative agencies, vendors or marketing partners
Successfully adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining quality and focus
Experience in healthcare, philanthropy, nonprofit, higher education, public sector, or another stakeholder-intensive environment would be considered an asset.
Excellent writing, presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential.
Because philanthropy is built on relationships, selected Foundation events, donor activities, networking opportunities, and community engagements occur outside regular business hours. Participation in these activities is part of the role.
The Chalmers Foundation offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, wellness and employer supported retirement perks .
The Chalmers Foundation is committed to creating an inclusive workplace and welcomes applications from qualified candidates.
