Department: Patrol

Full-Time, Seasonal (October to April)

Wage: $27/hr

Position Summary The Supervisor of Patrol is responsible for leading and supporting the ski patrol team to ensure the safety and well-being of members, guests, and staff while on-hill. This position provides supervision, training, and coordination of daily patrol operations, including emergency response, accident management, and patrol readiness. The Supervisor ensures high standards of first aid coverage, guest service, and professional conduct within the patrol team.

Key Responsibilities

Ski Patrol Supervision

- Provide leadership, scheduling, and supervision to the ski patrol team to ensure effective on-hill safety and first aid coverage.
- Oversee daily patrol operations, including trail checks, accident response, lift evacuation readiness, and skier/rider safety support.
- Ensure patrol members are trained and certified in first aid, rescue, and operational protocols.
- Maintain patrol equipment, rescue gear, and related facilities to operational standards.

Emergency Response & Incident Management

- Act as lead responder or incident commander for major on-hill incidents, ensuring proper response, communication, and documentation.
- Coordinate with external emergency services as required.
- Conduct post-incident reviews and debriefings with patrol staff.

Training & Development

- Organize and deliver training sessions for patrol staff in emergency care,



rescue techniques, and operational procedures.
- Ensure all patrol certifications are current and that training records are maintained.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback to patrol team members.

Signage, Communication & Safety Awareness

- Oversee placement and condition of on-hill safety signage, including trail markers, boundary ropes, and hazard indicators.
- Support communication of operational safety information to guests and members.
- Contribute to fostering a culture of safety awareness and professionalism within the patrol team.

Qualifications

- Certification in Advanced First Aid, Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years of ski patrol experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ski area operations, emergency response protocols, and rescue techniques.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and crisis management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and under pressure in emergency situations.
- Comfortable working in all mountain weather conditions and terrain.

Work Conditions

- Outdoor work in a ski resort environment, including diverse terrain and winter weather conditions.
- Required to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts during the ski season.
- On-call availability for emergency response.
- Physically demanding role requiring strong fitness, stamina, and mobility.
