Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry and a passion for creating delicious meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Duties:
Learn how to handle the fryer and boil sides properly. Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and chopping produce
Assist in cooking and preparing menu items according to set recipes
Close very clean, up to standard of a seafood establishment. Ensure prep is fresh. Close late and ensure cleanliness of dishes and other items need for the morning.
Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Monitor stock levels and communicate with the Chef to place orders
Understanding of food safety practices
Experience with kitchen equipment and utensils
Ability to work in a team environment
Nice-to-have Skills:
Food industry experience
Familiarity with food handling and preparation
Previous work in a restaurant or food service setting.

Requirements:
Experience as a line cook or prep cook in a fast-paced restaurant environment, preferably with seafood.
Strong knowledge of basic cooking techniques, knife skills, and food preparation methods.
Understanding of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper food storage practices.
Ability to follow recipes, portion guidelines, and plating standards accurately.
Positive time management skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service.
Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a hot kitchen environment.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Formal culinary training or certification is an asset but not required.
