Become a key influencer at the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) as a Regulatory Legal Counsel. This role emphasizes legal support, advice on utility regulations, and courtroom representation.
The AUC is seeking a Legal Counsel to contribute to its mission of regulating Alberta's utilities. You will report to the General Counsel, provide legal guidance on electricity and gas markets, and prepare legal opinions while working cohesively with a cross-disciplinary team. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring fair and responsible utility services within the province.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide legal support on AUC matters
• Research and analyze legal issues thoroughly
• Write legal memos and opinions for guidance
• Question witnesses at oral hearings confidently
• Support in drafting Commission Rules and Bulletins
Requirements:
• LL.B. with four years of related experience
• Member in positive standing of Law Society of Alberta
• Litigation experience in courts or tribunals preferred
• Strong research and writing skills
• Knowledge of administrative and utility law
