The Planner II is responsible for supporting the development of the L4 Commissioning Schedule and leading specific planning tasks. They will be learning from the Manager and Planner III in this area. The role will involve working in Primavera P6 to manage the weekly update cycle including progress, logic changes, baseline changes, and weekly outputs.

Within this role the Planner II will have to liaise with a variety of other stakeholders such as Test & Trials, Production, Engineering, SCM etc. with support from the Ship Completions Planning Manager. There will also be an involvement in supporting the Ship Completions Planning Manager to document business processes and ensuring these are captured in the business QMS. The role will directly report to the Ship Completions Planning Manager.

Duties/Accountabilities

- Lead or support the development of the L4 Commissioning Schedule covering specific parts of the schedule such as main Machinery, Electronics etc.
- Lead or support the weekly management of the L4 Commissioning Schedule including input of progress, updating of forecasts and running of progress sessions.
- Work with other T&T; Schedulers to ensure the activities are all logically linked in the plan and integrated effectively to provide our IMS.
- Liaise with variety of other stakeholders including Test & Trials, Production, Engineering and SCM.
- Manage daily issues that occur within the L4 Commissioning Schedule and react as appropriate.




- Supports the development of defined process documents which will be held within the QMS.
- Supports key meetings related to the detail of the L4 Commissioning Schedule.

Education and Experience

- Diploma or Technical certification in Trades or Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 – 4 years’ experience working within a Planning team.
- 1 – 3 years’ experience working within a Shipbuilding setting.
- Achievement of PMP Certificate or similar would be beneficial.
- Ability to obtain Reliability Status and Controlled Goods Security Clearance prior to the start date.

- Good understanding of standard planning practices, theories and terminology.
- Demonstrated ability of working within a planning environment.
- Some understanding and experience using Microsoft Project.

- Demonstrated initiative, creativity and integrity.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent computer skills including MS Suite of tools.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve.
- Good judgment and reasoning skills.
- Ability to work with limited direction and to function as a key team member.

The pay range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position is between CA$40.00 and CA$44.00
