We are looking for experienced Playwright Automation Test Engineer to join our QEA team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in automation frameworks, API and data validation, and AI-assisted automation. This role requires robust problem-solving skills and the ability to build scalable, reliable automation for complex, data-driven platforms for our banking clients.

Design, develop, and maintain robust Playwright-based automation frameworks for web applications. Create robust automated test scripts for web applications and APIs. Ensure comprehensive test coverage for both frontend (UI) and backend (API, database) components.

Perform data validation using SQL DB queries and handling medium to complex queries with ease. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software solutions. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on testing progress and quality metrics.

Based on this role’s business requirements,



this is a hybrid position requiring 4 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON. Overall 5 to 8 years of QA automation experience in enterprise-scale, data-driven systems. Must have 2+ years of strong hands-on experience with Playwright automation.

Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java-based test automation frameworks (Selenium, TestNG, JUnit). Must have hands-on experience in API automation testing experience. These will help you stand out Familiarity with AI-assisted automation approaches (e.g., test generation, intelligent test maintenance) We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates.

The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 70,000 - 90,000 per year. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing. #
