Contribute to the exciting mission of the Canadian Museum of Nature as a Temporary Specimen Project Officer in Gatineau, QC, from October 2026 until January 2027. Leverage your skills in databasing and digital management while supporting critical botanical projects.
Working under the Botany Curator, you will focus on digitizing herbarium specimens and facilitating data capture from Canadian National Parks. Expertise in digital file management, photography, and preventive conservation will be key. This role fosters collaboration in a diverse workplace as you help streamline project workflows and tackle challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
• Digitize and manage herbarium specimen data
• Facilitate image capture and storage
• Provide solutions to workflow issues
• Repair and handle vital specimens

Requirements:
• Relevant post-secondary education in Science or Museum studies
• Experience managing digital files and databasing
• Proficient in handling natural history specimens
• Strong team collaboration skills
• Bilingual (English/French) preferred
