Role Overview The Presales Solution Architect plays a key role in winning and successfully delivering new business for Xerox IT Solutions Canada. Working closely with clients, sales, account management, service delivery, bid management, technology partners, and third parties, the Solution Architect translates business and technical requirements into secure, scalable, commercially viable IT solutions and services.

The role is accountable for solution development from discovery and qualification through proposal, approval, deal closure, transition, and operational readiness. The successful candidate will combine technical depth, business acumen, and strong communication skills to articulate value, benefits, costs, assumptions, and risks to technical, non-technical, and executive audiences. This position supports Xerox IT Solutions Canada’s vendor-agnostic, outcome-driven approach to designing and delivering IT solutions tailored to each client’s objectives.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the end-to-end architecture and design of IT solutions and services across opportunities of varying size and complexity.
- Engage clients and internal stakeholders to understand business objectives, technical requirements, current-state environments, constraints, and desired outcomes.
- Develop solution strategies, architectures,

scopes, service models, implementation approaches, transition plans, and high-level roadmaps.
- Support the full sales pursuit lifecycle, including qualification, discovery, workshops, proposals, bids, tenders, presentations, demonstrations, and business approval reviews.
- Build compelling value propositions and business cases that clearly communicate client perks, expected outcomes, return on investment, assumptions, dependencies, and risks.
- Own and coordinate contributions to the overall solution design, integrating input from sales, account management, professional services, managed services, delivery teams, vendors, distributors, and technology partners.
- Develop accurate solution costing and pricing inputs, control scope, and help ensure proposals are competitive, commercially acceptable, and deliverable.
- Present complex technical and service concepts clearly to technical, non-technical, and executive audiences through customer-facing presentations, diagrams, and proposal content.
- Provide technical leadership during due diligence, validating and refining the proposed solution before contract finalization and delivery.
- Lead the solution handoff to delivery teams and support a smooth transition to operational readiness, ensuring requirements, commitments, assumptions, risks, and responsibilities are clearly documented.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, vendor offerings, licensing models, and market trends, and recommend solutions based on business value, fit, cost, risk, and lifecycle considerations.

- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with clients and technology partners while supporting account growth and go-to-market initiatives.
- Contribute to reusable architectures, templates, methodologies, and knowledge-sharing practices, and provide guidance to colleagues with less experience.
- Maintain relevant technical, sales, and industry knowledge through ongoing training and professional development.

Skills And Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in IT consulting, solution architecture, presales, professional services, or a related client-facing technology role; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- 3+ years of experience supporting the sale and design of enterprise IT systems, solutions, or managed services.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in one or more relevant areas, such as AI, cloud, data centre infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, end-user computing, modern workplace, data protection, or managed services.
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical and service solutions while balancing client outcomes, cost, complexity, delivery capability, and risk.
- Strong analytical, discovery, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills, with close attention to detail.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to technical, non-technical, and executive audiences.
- Experience developing proposals, statements of work, solution presentations, estimates, or other client-facing deliverables.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to coordinate effectively across sales, technical, delivery, operational, and partner teams.
- Self-motivated and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, client-focused environment.
- Relevant industry, vendor, cloud, security, or architecture certifications are considered an asset.
