Join YW Calgary as a Women's Support Partner, providing essential overnight support to women escaping domestic violence. This role involves crisis management and client-centered care from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
In this role, you will be instrumental in creating a welcoming environment for women and children at the shelter. With a strong foundation in trauma-informed care, you'll help navigate challenges, maintain safety, and supply needed resources while fostering respectful relationships among residents.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide client-centered, trauma-informed care
• Answer all calls on the 24-hour crisis line
• Support residents with hygiene and food supplies
• Perform safety checks and monitor security
• Maintain records and complete data entry tasks
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field
• 1-3 years of related experience required
• Certify in First Aid and CPR within 6 months
• Experience in domestic violence support settings
• Robust skills in crisis intervention and empathy
