POSITION SUMMARY TheDietitian(D-CP)provides the highest quality of nutritional care to optimize the nutritional status of program clientsin accordance withindividual care plans, SJHC standards, the College of Dietitians ofCanadaand the Ministry of Health guidelines.
The D-CPisresponsible forsupporting clients witha wide variety ofspecial dietary needs, variousheath conditions, mental health and/oraddictions and/or/mobilityissues.The D-CPisexpected to approach their work in a manner which isguidedby principles ofClient Bill of Rights, nutritional best practices, culturally sensitive approaches,and safety.
This roleprovidesdirect supporttoclients enrolled in steams within the ICCP and St Mary’s healthprograms.The D-CPprovidesdirect support to managers in the overall initiatives or our organization, through their day to day activities. In addition, the D-CPprovides support and guidance forfont line staff in these programsas related todietaryneeds and services.This roleinvolves workingcollaboratively with clients, families, caregivers, careteamsand other interdisciplinary functions to promotethe health andwell beingof the populations wesupport.




Clinical Program clients have typically been discharged from hospital and still require some level of health care for a short periodof time.These clients aregenerally stable, can be of any adult age, and may have diagnosed (or undiagnosed)mental health care needs.

QUALIFICATIONS University level degree in a related field (B.Sc., Home Economics, Food and Nutrition etc) - required
Completion of a dietitian internship - required
Updated and unrestricted registration with a professional college (College of Dietitians) required
Previousexperience with a geriatric population - preferred
Previousexperience with a mental health / addiction’s population – an asset
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role - preferred
Previousexperience working withvulnerableclients in community care settings- preferred
Gentle Persuasive Approach(orequivalent)training– an asset
Proficient computer skills, including excel, Office 365,Alayacareetc. - preferred
