Impact the future of education at Dámbü Tän Kets'ádań Kų̀ in Whitehorse as a Grade 1 and 2 teacher. We seek an cutting-edge educator who engages students through responsive teaching methods.
This full-time, temporary role runs from October 13, 2026, to June 11, 2027. Ideal candidates must hold a Bachelor of Education and demonstrate recent experience supporting students with varying academic abilities. You will integrate research-based teaching practices, including First Nations perspectives, while fostering strong relationships with students, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support students’ academic growth with tailored instructional strategies
• Utilize research-based methods for literacy and numeracy
• Engage families in their child’s educational journey
• Implement classroom management techniques focused on developmental understanding
• Collaborate with staff on behavioural and educational plans
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Education or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated teaching experience with neuro-diverse students
• Ability to adapt lessons for different learning styles
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to complete necessary certification requirements
