Project Accountant and Bid Support (Permanent)

Expected Salary: $$67,021 to $87,965

To determine final salary, Babcock considers a variety of factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience and internal equity. The final base salary offer is at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

Description In this role, you will:

Support bid and proposal activities for new and potential contracts.

Support project initiation, execution, and closeout processes.

Prepare and monitor project cost reports, including supporting project teams located across Canada.

Contribute financial and project-related data to customer reporting deliverables, as required.

Facilitate inquiries related to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system entries and invoice supporting documentation, ensuring costs are accurately recorded against Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and approved budgets.

Provide financial inputs and analysis for Contract Status Reviews (CSR).

Maintain technical accounting documentation in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standard 15 (IFRS 15).

Provide support to Cost Account Managers.

Prepare accruals and support Finance with accrual-related activities.

Provide support during internal and external audits, as required.





Support customer invoicing processes.

Perform invoice reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

Support forecasting and financial planning activities.

Maintain Integrated Financial Systems (IFS) project structures to support effective and efficient reporting.

Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, as required.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The ideal candidate brings:

Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is considered an asset.

A minimum of five years of experience in project accounting, financial analysis, or a related finance role.

Experience with pricing and financial modelling.

Strong understanding of cost control principles and project management processes.

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Experience with Integrated Financial Systems (IFS) is considered an asset.

Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver results within established deadlines.

Strong relationship-building skills with internal customers, project teams, and key stakeholders.

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work in a timely manner.

Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Canadian Secret Security Clearance and clearance under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
