Role Description The Project Engineer – Hazardous Location Equipment role is a full-time, on-site position based in Oakville, ON. This role is responsible for managing and executing engineering projects related to hazardous location equipment, including planning, coordinating, and performing technical evaluations and tests to applicable national and international standards.
The Project
Engineer will prepare and review technical documentation, test plans, and reports,
and will work closely with clients to clarify requirements, timelines, and deliverables. Daily tasks include collaborating with internal teams and external partners, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and supporting certification decisions through thorough analysis and documentation. The role also involves monitoring project progress, addressing technical issues, and contributing to continuous improvement of processes, tools, and methodologies.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Project Engineering and Electrical Engineering skills, with experience in hazardous location equipment or related fields.
- Candidates should possess effective Project Management and Project Planning skills, including organizing tasks, managing timelines, and coordinating multiple projects.
- Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant qualifications such as a degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline are beneficial.
- Experience with product safety standards, certification processes, and testing procedures for hazardous locations equipment is an asset.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, solid attention to detail, and proficiency with common office and engineering software tools are advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and maintain a client-focused approach is preferred.
