Banking IT Project Manager (Contract)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Banking IT Project Manager to lead and deliver strategic technology transformation initiatives within a complex banking environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management expertise, deep knowledge of banking operations, cash management, and payments, along with the ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and drive projects from initiation to successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Delivery

- Lead end-to-end IT projects and ensure successful delivery of agreed business objectives.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, risk logs, and status reports.
- Establish effective project governance and ensure compliance with organizational standards and SDLC processes.
- Coordinate project activities, meetings, action items, and stakeholder communications.
- Manage project scope, dependencies, issues, and risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare implementation, testing, and deployment plans.

Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders.
- Collaborate with teams across Operations, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Business units.
- Communicate project progress, risks, decisions, and milestones to senior management.
- Facilitate discussions, resolve conflicts,



and drive consensus among stakeholders.

Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide project leadership and direction to cross-functional teams.
- Drive accountability and ownership across project participants.
- Influence stakeholders and support strategic decision-making.
- Foster a team-oriented and results-oriented project environment.

Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in IT Project Management within the banking industry.
- Strong experience with Cash Management, Payments, and SWIFT.
- Solid understanding of banking products, processes, and operational workflows.
- Proven experience managing large-scale technology or transformation projects.
- Strong expertise in project governance, SDLC, risk management, and stakeholder management.
- Experience preparing project plans, status reports, budgets, and implementation plans.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Consulting experience within banking or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of Global Banking operations and payment systems.
- Experience managing complex enterprise-wide initiatives.
