Position Overview
We are hiring a full-time Property Maintenance & Construction Assistant to support maintenance, landscaping, and small-scale renovation projects across our portfolio. This is a hands-on, year-round role for someone who likes variety, works well independently, and wants to build real skills in building maintenance, property improvement, and light construction. The position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and involves travelling between our sites as assigned.
Position Details
Employment type: Full time, permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday; some flexibility required for seasonal work and snow events
Wage: $18–$22 per hour, based on experience
Cell phone allowance: Provided
Mileage: Reimbursed for required travel between work sites during work hours
Start date: Fall 2026
Location: Winnipeg, MB (multiple sites)
Key Responsibilities
General Cleaning & Upkeep: Sweep, mop, and clean floors, hallways, lobbies, and common areas. Clean windows and frequently used surfaces. Collect and dispose of garbage and recycling using proper, eco-friendly disposal practices.
Outdoor Maintenance & Landscaping: Perform snow removal using appropriate equipment. Perform lawn care, including mowing, trimming, and seasonal clean-up. Maintain parking lots, walkways, and green spaces. Assist with planting, mulching, and outdoor beautification projects, including native plantings and water-conservation initiatives.
Light Construction & Property Improvement: Assist with suite turnovers, property upgrades, renovations, and basic repairs. Support painting, flooring, drywall patching, and materials assembly. Help with exterior projects such as fencing, decking, and small structure repairs. Work safely and follow established procedures on every job.
Facility Safety & Reporting: Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance issues. Report safety concerns or hazards to management. Maintain accurate records of work completed using our mobile app and digital tools to track maintenance requests and log finished tasks. Help implement environmentally responsible safety and maintenance practices.
Qualifications
Reliable, motivated, and eager to learn new skills.
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and a clean driving record; must have access to a safe and reliable personal vehicle for travel between work sites.
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors year-round, including winter snow removal.
Able to lift and carry moderate loads and operate basic hand and power tools safely.
Must have a smartphone capable of running mobile apps used for daily work tracking and communication.
Previous experience in maintenance, landscaping, or construction is an asset but not required; we will train the right candidate.
