Quality Assurance Specialist

About the Position

Dieffenbacher North America is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to join our manufacturing team in Windsor, Ontario. Wage subject to experience.

The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that fabricated components, machined parts, assemblies, and completed equipment meet customer specifications, engineering requirements, drawings, and company quality standards.

This is a hands-on position that will work closely with Engineering, Production, Fabrication, Machining, Purchasing, and Project Management to identify quality issues, implement corrective actions, and continuously improve our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspect fabricated, machined, and assembled components throughout the manufacturing process.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, weld requirements, and customer quality requirements.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, materials, and workmanship.
- Perform and coordinate inspections using appropriate measuring and inspection equipment.
- Create and maintain inspection reports, quality records, and documentation.
- Monitor production activities to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Identify non-conforming materials, components, and workmanship.
- Investigate quality issues and determine root causes.
- Coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
- Work with production personnel to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Review supplier and subcontractor quality documentation.
- Assist with incoming material inspections when required.
- Support customer inspections and third-party inspections.




- Assist with final inspections prior to shipment.
- Maintain calibration records for inspection equipment.
- Help develop and improve inspection procedures and quality standards.
- Track quality issues and identify trends requiring corrective action.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure required quality documentation is complete and properly maintained.

Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in heavy fabrication, machining, welding, or industrial equipment manufacturing is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of dimensional tolerances and manufacturing specifications.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience with ERP/SAP systems is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and interact effectively with shop-floor personnel.
- Ability to prioritize multiple jobs and quality issues in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications & Technical Experience The following would be considered assets:




- Welding inspection experience or certification.
- CWB experience/certification.
- NDT experience.
- ISO 9001 experience.
- Experience with quality management systems.
- Experience with inspection reports and customer quality documentation.
- Experience with CNC machining and large fabrication.
- Experience coordinating third-party inspections.

“If it doesn't, why?”

“And what do we need to do to prevent it from happening again?”
